Sonaca To Supply Wings, Empennage For Otto’s Phantom 3500 Business Jet

Sonaca signed a contract with startup Otto Aerospace to provide the wings, fixed leading edges, and empennage for the Phantom 3500 business jet, announced at the Farnborough Airshow. The aircraft employs natural laminar flow technology designed to reduce fuel consumption by more than 50% through improved airfoil profiles and near-perfect surface finishes to minimize drag. Otto aims to fly the first Phantom 3500 prototype in late 2027, with Sonaca dedicating approximately 50 engineers to deliver primary structural components for the 20-meter-span wing beginning next year.
